The Balm's Schwing eyeliner review

Hi everyone!
This review is going to be on The Balm's eyeliner 'Schwing.' This is a standard liquid liner from the drugstore which retails for different prices on different sites. The cheapest if from ASOS at £12.

So like I've said, this is a black liquid eyeliner. This comes with a small, flexible applicator which is situated on the end of the black wand as shown on the packaging whilst the product is in the tube at the end. Let's see how this eyeliner held up.

Good points
To start with I'm going to start with how intense this black is. This is such a deep, rich black which is great for creating any dynamic looks or a intense wing. With the wand being small, you can create how big or small wing or line as you wish because of the wand giving you the range to do either one rather than just one. This is ideal for anyone with also hooded eyelids as you can really create a small enough wing or line to suit you! The staying power of this is amazing. This dries down to a satin finish, so not fully matte. BUT this stays on so well throughout the day with no smudges. If you apply this in the day, it will look the same at night as it did when you first applied it. I think the size of the applicator is an ideal size. I think it fits in the hand easily and comfortably to give you a smooth, flawless application whether that be for a wing or a line or both. Also, some eyeliners once applied can dry out on the brush almost instantly once product is applied making it harder to blend and even any harsh lines/edges out. This one however does not. Because of it's very runny consistency, this makes it better for those who like to take their time with eyeliner such as if you're inexperienced with doing eyeliner or just prefer to take their time to get it perfect.

Bad points
For me, because of this being a very runny formula, I find that this can be quite tricky to work with. I think that this is one for those who can master a 10/10 wing or just a general eyeliner look. Because of the formulation on this being so wet and the applicator being small, I find sometimes that I can over do and go in too heavy handed sometimes making me mess up or making my line or wing look uneven and messy. The staying power of this is great but I will say even with eye makeup remover this will be quite a task to get off the eyes. It makes my eyes feel and becomes aggravated because of the amount of pressure and rubs applied to the eyes. Another point with the applicator. Because of it being flexible also, It is so easy to make the applicator bend in a way in which you do not want it to which can be annoying. If you make a mistake, this is not one to easily correct either. Event hough this dries to a satin finish, getting this off whilst it's still wet is like any eyeliner. It will smudge throughout the face making you ruin any face makeup surrounding it. This is why it is best to do any makeup using eyeliner or loose pigments before face makeup.

Overall
I know this was only a short review but what can you say about eyeliners really?! Anyways...My overall verdict on this is that it is a good liquid eyeliner, very black and good longevity to it once dried. This will last an entire day and night because of it's crazy staying power. However In my opinion if you are going to get this make sure you have had experience with liquid eyeliners before as this one is quite fidly. If you are a pro at eyeliner then you may want to try this out because of it's small applicator and longevity.

As always if you would like to share you thoughts on this product or give me any recommendations on any eyeliners which you love then please let me know. Go and look at my bloglovin page also where you can check out my blogs easily and stress free! Thanks :) X
