Milani's Baked Blush review

Hi everyone!
Welcome back to my blog guys. Today I am going to review Milani's baked blushes. My friend who went to New York brought me this back as a gift and I am so grateful for that as Milani is not stocked in the UK. Hope you enjoy!

These come in 9 different shades ranging from pinks to corals. The shade I have is
DOLCE PINK. These are a buildable shimmery blush which comes with a compact mirror and also a small brush. This blush is stated to shape, contour and highlight. Seems versatile right? In the US this costs just over $8 and I am not sure about buying it off of UK web based sellers so if you wanted to try these out then go and check sites such as ebay or amazon for your best bet.

Good points
First of all I love the packaging! I think that the shiny gold compliments the colour of the blush so well. It's certainly an eye catching product. So i'm going to start with the formulation. This blush has a smooth and easy blendable formulation to it. Starting off sheer, it is so easy to build the colour of this up to your desirability. I use this with my real techniques blush brush and this picks the pigment off perfectly. With this having shimmer specks included, it really gives your face a nice warm glow, perfect for the spring and summer times where the sunlight will naturally hit those parts of the face. I also like how this is a versatile product. This also looks super elegant on the face as a highlight on the cheekbones just to shape and set the face with some shimmer. However I wouldn't use this both as a blush and highlight as your face would be a shimmer mess! I really like how buildable this blush is. I always have a light dusting of blush to bring my natural glow back to my face and this just sets it off nicely with the added shimmer. As well as a highlight, I find this to be really pretty on the eyes also. It gives them a POP of colour with the shimmer also, making it a nice, pretty subtle look. I think the added mirror compact under the product is very handy for travelling purposes.I know this might not be a big deal to some people but I actually do like how the blush is circular so the entire brush to get pigment to it and is easy to gain pigment of the product. Some rectangular packaged blushes are a pain and require more work to get the desirable pigment off. Some blushes can be quite dusty with pigment but this is certainly not. I can be messy with the shimmer but the product itself does not get dusty and go everywhere like some blushes do. Off the top of my head, the rimmel blushes do become dusty and pigment does tend to get on clothes.

DOLCE PINK
Bad points
Going to start off and say I think the brush that comes with this is a waste of time. I understand the reasoning and concept behind it but for me, the bristles are always too harsh and dense on those type of brushes. I do still keep it for show but I will never use it. Although I do like the shimmery specks to this blush, I find that the more you build this blush on the face the more shimmery it becomes and because this is a very sheer blush I find you have to apply a lot of product which means a lot of shimmer to the face AND it does get quite messy after a bit. I do have oily skin so this may be the case but I do find that this product dusts off my face within a matter of hours. I find that even with a setting spray this is not a long lasting product. When it does come off my face it leaves a mass of shimmer scattered over my face which makes me look even shinier than I already do!

Overall
I do think this blush deserves some love. I do like this blush and I am surprised it isn't spoke about more due to how versatile it is. I am 50/50 on to whether I would try more of their shades because of the shimmer issues I have but I am not going to let that stop me if someone recommends a really nice colour for my pale skin.

If you have any recommendations on what Blushes I should try next please let me know as I want to have and try more blushes in my life! Thanks X
