MAC pro longwear concealer - NC20 |
Is this really a 'pro' concealer?
This is the pro longwear concealer by MAC. This is in the shade NC20 and comes with 0.30 fluid ounces. This retails at £17.50 on the MAC website.
Reasons for buying
The reason I brought this concealer is because I needed a new concealer basically! Because of my oily skin, with this being a pro longwear product, it seemed to be a good idea to try this out. I love mac as a brand so wanted to try my first product from this range.
Good points
Firstly can I just say WELL DONE MAC! They have done such a good job with this product that it'll be my go to concealer for a while, best concealer i've tried! Anyways, first good thing about this concealer is the coverage. This concealer covers acne and dark under eye's SO well! For me, I use half a pump under each eye and any left over on problem areas and I do not need any more product because a little really does go along way. This concealer is also really easy to blend out leaving the skin looking flawless. If you know what 'baking your face' is, I suggest you try it with this concealer because it really does brighten your under eyes. I got the shade NC20 because I have more of a yellow under toned skin. NW shades are mainly aimed at those with pink under tones where as NC shades are aimed at those with yellow under tones. This shade is perfect for me. I had total guess work selecting my colour as I ordered it online but i'm very impressed with the colour and the overall concealer. I do like the packaging as it looks smart but will mention the downside further on within the post. It states that it is a pro longwear concealer and it definitely isn't wrong! Normally, because I apply an upside down triangle shape under my eyes to brighten the entire area, my concealer that I'll apply will cover the cheeks and because of this, it makes my face go oily quicker. With this concealer, that is not the case! It stays all day looking smooth and flawless. This concealer would be great for anyone with normal, combination and oily skin.
Bad points

If i'm totally honest, I can't really fault this product that much because I love it. However, one downside is how the bottle is made from glass. This makes it harder to travel with because of the risk of damage and for £17.50 a bottle you really don't want to be harming this product! Also, because of this concealer being so heavy coverage, it can leave my face feeling slightly heavy under my eyes, making them feel dry. Because of this, if you are trying this concealer with dry skin, my advice would be to make sure you've applied moisturiser or any eye cream to the area before applying any face make up. My last downside in opinion is creasing under the eyes. For me, this doesn't bother me as much as it should but after a few hours after setting the concealer, I've noticed creasing under my eyes. My bags under my eyes are quite wrinkly so this could be the reason for the problem. Other than that the concealer looks and stays fine!
Overall
Overall i'm so impressed with this concealer! Would totally recommend for those looking for a high coverage, long lasting concealer. It's perfect for those who are oily like me. 10/10 for the concealer :) Go and buy this and try for yourself, you will not be disappointed!
Leave your comments below on your thoughts about the post and let me know your feelings on this concealer if you've tried it also. Thanks guys :) x
