Soap and Glory 'one heck of a blot' face powder

Soap and Glory - One heck of a blot face powder
Are you one heck of a blotter?

This is a translucent, mattifying powder from soap and glory. This product contains 9 grams of product with a compact mirror inside the package. This currently retails at £12 from the drugstore. If you are in the UK, I got mine from boots.

Reason for purchasing
I wanted a new powder which was translucent and mattifying to target at my oily skin. My friends who have used this recommended me buying this as they said it kept them feeling matte all day. However, their skin types are either normal or dry so I was 50/50 because In my opinion, matte powders do not keep me you matte with oily skin but did this one work? Lets find out

Good points
First of all I adore soap and glory packaging. All of their products are packaged so differently, each offering their own identity to show off the product. What I like about this powder is that it doesn't feel like a dry, dusty powder. Some matte powders what i've also tried have felt drying once applied to the skin and made my face looking quite dusty because of how much product came off the pan. But this powder is great for making your face look and feel flawless. I think the thing I love most about this product is how it adds extra coverage. Even though this is translucent, I feel like when I use a less coverage foundation such as a light/medium coverage product, this powder adds extra coverage whilst matting the face down. This is a translucent powder but in the pan, the colouration of the powder looks more neutral than translucent which for me, is a good thing because I know It's not going to be too powdery or look to white on the face. If you 'bake' your face' whilst doing your makeup to set concealer etc. I probably wouldn't recommend with this powder as it hasn't got the typical translucent colouration and it's also recommended to use a loose powder to maximise the results anyways, just throwing that out there. This is my second product by soap and glory that I have tried and I wasn't disappointed. My first product was archery which I was so hit and miss with because of the longevity on how well it stayed on my oily skin around the area of my brows. Even though this is £12 in the UK, I would still repurchase this again because of how nice it makes my skin look and feel, also adding that extra coverage. If you don't live in the UK and can get this product shipped to you, I really would give it a try

Bad points
Inside of the product - wups I've hit pan!!
Just as I expected, this powder does not keep me matte throughout the day, but what does?! Saying that, I can go out and do some jobs and I will still look matte by the time i'm done but that's it. As soon as I settle when back home, the powder just seems to make my face feel heavy, feel cakey and It makes me want to take it off. If i've applied this powder to my face and i'm going out all day, whilst i'm out I will find that I will need to re apply more powder to keep my face looking non shiny. I think my last bad point is how little product you get in this. You will see by the image of the inside of the product that I have hit pan. I started using this powder on December 25th and hit pan, I would say, February 6th. For a powder being £12, I would have hoped this powder would have lasted me a lot longer as I do really like this powder. I think the best powder I've tried is by bare minerals (if you would like a review on their loose powder comment below)

Overall
I love this powder despite those small downsides. I would give this an 8.5/10. I would totally recommend this powder for all skin types. As I have just hit pan, I probably will repurchase this product at some point when I'm on danger mode of needing more ASAP but until then, I will continue to use this product until it dies!
