What's on my face 26/02/16...

Hi everyone!
I thought i'd do another post about what face makeup i've used today. This time i'm even adding what applicators i've used so you can find it easier to recreate the look youself! As normal, I have used products in which suit around my oily skin with a range of expensive and inexpensive products!

Products used
Products used in order of application:
  • Makeup forever step 1 base primer (matte)
  • Benefit's erase paste
  • Body shop's tea tree concealer
  • Too faced born this way foundation
  • Rimmel's wake me up concealer
  • Soap and Glory's one heck of a blot powder
  • Anastasia brow wiz
  • Maybelline's lash sensational mascara
  • Too faced Milk chocolate soleil bronzer
  • The balm's mary-lou manizer
  • Elf's blush
  • Urban Decay's de slick setting spray
The look I was going for today was an everyday, natural glow and blush look. I chose these products as I thought they were lightweight to the skin so It would've leave my face looking cakey making it easier to achieve that natural look I wanted

Product description

Makeup forever step 1 base primer - As i've said before, I love to use this primer to keep my face feeling matte. I use this to help control my oil production as I have oily skin. This is only the travel sized version of the product as I only wanted to try this out before buying the full size. This size cost me £13 I think. This is great at putting under those foundations which need more protection against oil

Benefit's erase paste - This is the first time i've mentioned this product on my blog! I love using this concealer before applying foundation. I currently have a situation of having quite dark under eye circles and this is the perfect salmon shade to cover them up. This is the shade 01 which is the lightest shade they do. With this concealer having salmon colourations to it, it makes it perfect for hiding and perfecting those dark circles to make you look more awake.

The body shop's tea tree concealer - This is also a first timer on my blog. Let me explain why I use this. When a new spot appears on my face or I have a spot scar with a more red pigmentation to it, I use this concealer to cover up the problem areas stated so it mutes the redness down. The colouration of this is quite orange but it does something to cancel out those redness around any spots or scaring. With this also having tea tree ingredients to it, It also helps in aiding those problem areas due to the helping aspects in which the ingredient tea tree has to offer. This comes in various different shades so it's versatile for any skin tone.

Too faced born this way foundation - Now, I have only had this foundation for 2 days and I am trying this out. SO FAR I am liking this foundation. So many people have said this is not a foundation for oily skin which in some respects, they were right but I have managed to make this work for my very annoying oily skin! This foundation is skin like. I have the shade porcelain and it's just a tad too orange for me. However, surprisingly enough, somehow this foundation eventually matches to your skin after being set. It gives my face a flawless, full coverage look without looking heavy which results to a natural look. After a few hours my natural oils will start to show but this foundation doesn't become oil shiny it becomes more dewy which is a look I don't really mind. I will soon be reviewing this foundation.

Rimmels wake me up concealer - You might be thinking, 'why is she using two concealers?' Well that's because these 2 concealers together do not make my eyes crease. I used this to brighten up my under eyes. I know I covered my dark circles well with the erase paste but I wanted to brighten the area up as the erase paste only cancels the darkness. I love this concealer as it's so creamy, easy to apply and it really does brighten my under eye area 'waking me up'. Also, you can blend this out to give you a flawless natural highlight to make you look more awake and ready for your day ahead.

Soap and glory's one heck of a blot powder - As you may know from a previous blog post, I like using this powder as it's a translucent, lightweight, matte powder. This does the job of setting everything in place whilst matting down the more oily areas of my face i.e the T zone. Because this is translucent, it's great for not adding any more colour to the face still making it appear natural

Anastasia's brow wiz - This brow product is about a month old for me. I enjoy using this product when i've had my eyebrows threaded and tinted as I find this easier to use and currently I have recently had them done. It has an easy applicatior to give you precision whilst doing your brows. With the brush on the end, it's great for brushing the product through the brows to evenly distribute the product to make them more natural looking

Maybelline's lash sensational mascara - If you have read my blog post on this product you will know that I love this mascara. It makes my eyelashes look full and black giving me a nice natural lash look. Some may say that you do not need a full looking lash for a natural look but I don't really think It matters as long as you don't go too overboard with application or add any wild false lashes. This keeps my eyelashes curled all day and I love it for when I'm wearing the makeup for several hours.

Too faced milk chocolate soleil bronzer - If you have been on my blog recently you will know I reviewed this product yesterday. This gives me a nice natural look to my face giving me a nice warm glow. I don't know what it is but when I use this product with my other too face product, the foundation, the bronzer glides on the face so GOOD! I love these two products together as they compliment each other so much.

The balm's mary-lou manizer - This highlighter gives me the most natural looking glow. This is the perfect highlight to use if you want a subtle but nice glow to your face. Even though I want a natural look, I wanted my face to have a glowly aspect to it to make my face look brighter and fresher because of the natural approach in which I was going for. This is the perfect highlight to use to do so.

Elf's baked blusher - I love love love this blusher for those days where you want to look natural. This is such a lovely light pigmented blusher to give you cheeks just a little pop of colour to add back the natural blush tone in which you cheeks have. I think the shade I have is called santa rose. I would highly recommend this blusher as it's SO inexpensive. Elf are expanding their product ranges so please go and check them out.

Urban decay's de slick setting spray - When you have oily skin, in my opinion it is a vital step in doing your makeup to set you makeup with a setting spray. This will help lock in place your makeup whilst controlling the matte products in which I have applied.

Makeup applicators
Makeup applicators I used

The beauty blender - The reason I love using a beauty blender Is because I love how easy it is to blend everything together. I used this for my foundation and concealer. When dampened, this beauty blender makes sure that my foundation applies so fast and easy, leaving me with no patches. For concealer, it is perfect for blending out the concealer so you do not get left with any harsh lines from the end of where you applied the concealer. If you do not own a beauty blender, GET ONE!

Sigma's E70 concealer brush - I used this to apply my benefit erase paste. This is the ideal size to apply something like this under the eyes due the small bristles. This could also be used as a base eyeshadow brush.

Eco tools powder brush - This is the only powder brush I have ever owned. This is the perfect size to distribute a nice amount of powder to set the face.

Real techniques bold metals 103 angled powder brush - I use this brush for bronzer. I love how big and fluffy this brush is. People have said to me that i'm silly for using a brozer brush this size but I disagree with them. This is the perfect sized brush to easily blend out any bronzer applied. It may be a big brush but it's certainly worth it

Real techniques fan brush - This is a lovely little brush for applying highlight. Because of the nice, flexible bristles it makes it easier to apply to places such as under the brow bone, cupids bow because of the size of the brush. This picks up a lot of pigment in order for you to get your glow on.

Real techniques blush brush - Because of how the bristles are in a dome shape, this makes it perfect for applying blusher to the apples of your cheeks. You can easily tap the product on to the face or swipe giving you whatever desirable look you wish to achieve. I would seriously recommend this brush.
