Hi everyone!
My post today is going to be on the Lorac Pro Pallet 1. I do apologise for the finger print and messy images below as the product does get messy quite quick and it hard to clean! If you live in the UK like me, I had to have this shipped over from the US so i can not certify the price as if you look on different websites they all have different prices. Hope you enjoy! X
About the product
So this eyeshadow pallet comes with 16 shades. 8 matte and 8 shimmer and also a mirror which can be seen above in the messy images WUPS. This also comes with a sample size of their eyeshadow primer which I will explain and review later also. This does not come with a brush so you are only paying for the 16 eyeshadows which are contained within the product. Starting from the top left the eyshadow names in order are white, cream, taupe, lt. pink, mauve, sable, espresso, black, nude, champagne, gold, lt.bronze, pewter, garnet, deep purple, slate.
Before I start the good and bad points in which I normally do, im going to review the pallet as a whole in both of these sections first. After I will do swatches and review each finish of the eyeshadows themselves so you can get in more in depth insight to the shadows.
Good points
Let me get straight to the point and say I LOVE LOVE LOVE this pallet so much! Even though I did pay well over £50 including shipping, it was so worth it. What made me want this pallet is because of how versitile it was. The shadows range from the lightest of light to the darkest of darks which shows me i'm going to get my money's worth. Let's talk about the eyeshadows themselves. First of all they are probably the most creamiest eyeshadows in which I had ever tried. They are so blendable and pigmented that it literally makes my heart melt. They work so well with and without a primer even with oily eyelids! And as you may or may not know, I have oily eyelids so for me, when an eyeshadow does not crease on my lid, it is win win winning. My eye colour is hazel and for me I find that each eyeshadow works with my eye colour even though I wouldn't initially put some of them with hazel eyes. So this tells me no matter what eye colour, each shadow will look great on you.
Bad points
As you may have guessed already, I'm not really a big fan of the packaging. The outer and inner packaging have almost like a light velvet material to it which makes it really hard to clean. It captures finger prints and any other mess you touch it with. I mean, this isn't such a big issue as after all, its makeup its bound to get messy but I just prefer nice clean appearing products so it makes me excited to use them. Also, another thing that doesn't bother me that much but it's annoying is how close together the eyeshadow pans are. especially with the darker colours I find that sometimes I transfer them into a lighter colour because of how close together they are. I can work this with but it's just annoying for me sometimes.
Below is a close up of the colours in my very messy packaging again sorry. The pictures really do not do the shadows justice. They look so stunning in person and pigmented. This makes them look a bit dull which i'm sorry about that I can't help the packaging getting dirty.
Matte shades
Good points
So these are all the matte shades in the pallet. All the matte shadows are on the top row and all the shimmer shades are on the bottom row to simplify things for us I guess. So the names starting from the left are white, cream, taupe, lt.pink, mauve, sable, espresso and black. Now, each of these matte shades are really pigmented. Yet again, the picture does not do the shadows justice. What I like about the matte shadows is that they're are not too chalky. They are so creamy when applying them to the lid giving it real ease to blend them out. Because the shadows are so pigmented you can go overboard with applying too much product so it's good that these allow you to blend so easily. My favourite matte shades to use are lt. pink and cream.
Bad points
My only issue with the matte shades is the fall out. If you are going to use this eyeshadow pallet I would recommend you doing your eye makeup before the face makeup so you can just swipe away any product in which has fallen on to the face.
My thoughts on each matte shade
White - Beautiful inner corner shade to brighten the tear duct area. Also could be used as a highlight
Cream - Beautiful as a base shadow to even out pigmentation of the eyelid
Lt. pink - Lovely on the central lid and inner corner
Taupe - A nice natural brown for the outer corner of the eyelid. Maybe a crease colour also
Mauve - A muted down purple shade which is great for a subtle edgy look
Sable - A stunning deep brown which is really useful for darkening the outer corner
Espresso - An intense brown which can be used to smoke out the lower lash line or the outer corner
Black - Super for creating a wing affect or a dramatic eye look
Shimmer shades
Good points
So these are the stunning shimmer shades which are all situated on the bottom row of the pallet. Starting from the left the shadows are nude, champagne, gold, lt.bronze, pewter, garnet, deep purple and slate. First of all OMG at these shadows you guys!! These are so amazingly pigmented and creamy and easy to blend WOW I love these! Let me tell you, these are the most flattering shades I have ever had the experience of trying in my life. Each shadow makes the eyes appear so open and awake making them pop with shimmer. As I have oily eyelids I tend to stay with matte shades but I prefer the shimmer shades to the matte shades from the pallet. No eyeshadow from this pallet will crease. Not ever. Even without a primer. My favourites from the shimmers are champagne, gold, garnet and lt.bronze.
Bad points
As I said with the matte shades my only issue with these eyeshadows is the fall out. With the shimmer shades, they have much more fall out than the matte shadows so be very aware of this. Apart from that I do not have a bad word to say about the shimmer shadows as they are the best ones I've tried so far. If you think you have better, please let me know!
My thoughts on each shimmer shade
Nude - This is such a stunning highlight shade for under the brow bone or the inner corner if you want something to brighten those areas of the face
Champagne - Such a stunning colour to apply to the middle of the lid over the top of other shadows to make the look you currently have POP
Gold - This is SO pigmented I love this shade. This is so perfect for all over the lid application to create whatever look you want
Lt. bronze - A lovely shade for the inner corner of the eye to make your eyes appear wider and to make them shine
Pewter - This shadow is great for a nice outer depth corner.
Garnet - This is a super pigmented shadow with red undertones to make the eye look BOMB. Great for all over the lid on its own.
Deep purple - Great for a vampy look
Slate - An unusual silvery blue shade which looks amazing on it's own with a pop of a lighter shade near the tear duct area.
Lorac's behind the scenes primer
This is an all round good base primer. It does not get oily, It makes the eyeshadow stay pigmented and makes sure the shadow does not move once applied. This product came with the pallet itself but can be used with any other shadows from a different pallet and still work as good. It's a cream looking light paste which becomes almost transparent once applied and blended out. Because of how this dries tacky, this is what makes the eyeshadows stay so well because of how they stick to the product.
