Hi everyone!
I thought i'd do something a bit different and tell you my go to favourite spring lip colours. I thought I'd keep all options drugstore so they are affordable for everyone to try and buy. Each product below is under £10 so very affordable. For those who are in the UK I purchased these are my local boots store.
Products
Rimmel's colour rush
Revlon super lustrous lipstick
Revlon lustrous lipstick
Rimmel's apocolips matte
Because spring is now here in the UK (even though the weather is still awful) I thought it would be handy for you to see what I like in a spring lip colour. My natural lip colour is quite dark pink anyways so finding spring shades are kind of difficult for me because the more typical, beautiful shades are a light pink for spring time. So these are my go to spring lip colours
Rimmel's colour rush - I think this shade is called on fire. The name has rubbed off so this is a bit of guess work wups! This retails for £5.99 from any drugstore. So the product itself is a super moisturising as you can see from she shine on the picture. The shade is a pinky, salmon shade which compliments those with fair skin. Rimmel have stated that you can intensify the lip balms by adding a second coat of this to the lips. This is a lovely, elegant spring time shade as it give the lips a pop of colour, just like the colour spring. If you love something that's moistening and hydrating on the lips then Rimmel's colour rush lip balms are great for you. In spring, the weather starts to warm up and if your lips are anything like mine, they will dry up quick in warmer temperatures. This is why I enjoy using this lip balm during the hotter months as it does not dry out my lips and is a beautiful shade to go with spring.
Rimmel Apocalips matte - This is my matte of choice spring lip colour. This is in the shade ornahe-olog which again, I had to guess of the boots website as the colour had rubbed off. This retails at £6.99. If you are reading this today just to let you know Rimmel have a 2 for 10 offer on at the moment at boots on selected Rimmel items. Even though I said above that in warmer months my lips dry out, I find this to be a comfortable formula for the lips during the hotter periods. This is a more peach/coral shade which again would look great on fair complexions. This is a subtle colour which just warms the face up. This looks great with a matching coral peach toned blush. Revlon do a beautiful cream blush which goes perfectly with this lipstick or liquid lipstick whatever you call it. As ombre lips are the new trend, this liquid lipstick would look beautiful in the centre of the lip with a darker nude on the corners to give this a really defined spring lip.
Revlon's super lustrous lipstick - This is in the shade pink in the afternoon and retails at £7.99. As you can probably see from the shine, this is another hydrating lip product. This is a cool toned pink shade with a glossy finish. This is not as sticky lipstick though. The reason I love this for a spring time lip colour is because of how beautiful this is. It reminds me of blossom which blooms during the coming of spring. For me, you have to build the colour up but the formulation is so perfect for dry lips during more humid climates. I mean this isn't a long wearing lipstick due to how creamy it is so it will transfer but this isn't a review so I won't get into that. The pink will really make your natural blush tones stand out on the face when the sun reflects onto it. This colour is a bit lighter than what i'd normally go for but surprising to me is a nice everyday spring colour.
Revlon's super lustrous lipstick - This is the same lipstick as above but in the shade pink pearl. The price is still the same at £7.99. This shade looks more brown toned in the bullet but once applied it applies a peachy colour with brown undertones. This, without flash looks more brown to the natural eye. I thought this is a more unusual but stunning spring shade because of how it's perfect for those who like more deeper shade of lip. This is a spring pick for me as it still has the peach element of spring with it but also can be worn as a natural tone all year round. Also, because of the brown undertones to this, it really makes your lips look plump and fuller because of how it contrasts with the peach.
Please feel free to comment your favourite spring time lipsticks as I would love to try out more for this time of season in the UK. If you would like to see me do a nail polish spring addition then also let me know as that is also something I am thinking of doing this month. As always please show your support, if you want that is by following me on social media sites and blogs! Thanks for reading :) X
